Is there an alternative to FIREPOD?
I do not know much about recording, but my ex-bass player had a nice setup with a FIREPOD. I'm trying to put together a facility where I record the drums and some instruments at the same time (well, 8 tracks at once) … enter my desk editing with CoolEdit. Is there a cheaper alternative for FIREPOD $ 400? I'm not even sure what it is called FIREPOD, to seek alternatives. This is a preamp? Some kind of interface?
If you mess around in cool edit enough, you find that has a multi-track on what can be recorded on different layers. really very good. Cool Edit 2.0 is what I am using … I do not know if your version is current or not.
